ROCK HILL, S.C. – Marshall's Track and Field team returns to action Friday and Saturday at the Winthrop Invitational, an event that will be held at the Irwin Belk Track & Field Complex.
The meet starts at 1 p.m. Friday with the field events, specifically the hammer throw, and will end Saturday at 3:15 p.m. with the 4x400 meter relay.
Also taking part in the meet will be teams from Ashland, University of Charleston, Gardner-Webb, Hillsdale, Johnson C. Smith, Lincoln Memorial, Queens, Radford, USC Upstate and host Winthrop.
The Thundering Herd is coming off a weekend that saw Ashonti Warner and Mikah Alleyne each break their own school records in the 400 Hurdles and 400 Meters, respectively. For her efforts, Alleyne was named Conference USA Outdoor Track Athlete of the Year by the league office.
