Men’s Golf Moves up Leaderboard After Round Two at AGT Intercollegiate

PAWLEYS ISLAND, S.C. – The Marshall men's golf team advanced up the leaderboard on Tuesday in the second round of the Golfweek Any Given Tuesday (AGT) Intercollegiate. Junior Tyler Jones leads the team tied for sixth.
The Thundering Herd is now tied for sixth overall. The third and final round at the True Blue Golf Course tees off Wednesday with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. Live scoring is provided by GolfStat.com.
"Tyler (Jones) played really well today again, and we really played pretty well in some tough conditions," Herd head coach Matt Grobe said. "We were able to move up the leaderboard and hopefully we will continue to improve tomorrow and keep moving up the leaderboard."
Jones shot par or better on 14-of-18 holes, finishing with a 1-over 73. He tallied three birdies and moved up four places on the board. Freshman Ryan Bilby shot another 2-over 74, and slid up three spots to now tied for 17th overall. Bilby recorded three birdies in the round.
Fifth-year senior Noah Mullens improved his score and moved up nine places on the leaderboard. Redshirt freshman Joseph Kalaskey improved two spots in the field.
Gardner-Webb jumped into the lead spot in the team competition and has a four-stroke lead over Charleston Southern. Zack Byers of Gardner-Webb also moved into the top spot and has a three-stroke lead over Erik Jansson of Jacksonville State and Zach Mandry of Ohio.
