Women’s Golf Through Two Rounds at the C-USA Championships

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – The Marshall women's golf team completed the second round of the Conference USA Championships on Tuesday on the Championship Course at PGA National. Fifth-year senior Stormy Randazzo moved up into the top 15.
The Thundering Herd is 11th. The third and final round tees off Wednesday at 7:50 a.m. on the first and tenth holes. Marshall will begin the round on the back-nine once again. Junior Makena Rauch will be the first to tee off on Wednesday for the Herd at 7:50 a.m. Live scoring is provided by GolfStat.com.
Randazzo improved her score by three strokes and moved up 16 places on the leaderboard and is tied for 14th. The Rowlett, Texas, native birdied two holes, Nos. 13 and 15. She shot par or better on 12-of-18 holes to lead the team. Randazzo will be the last Herd player to tee off in the third round with her time slot at 8:30 a.m.
Senior Jackie Schmidt sank an eagle on Tuesday, scoring a two on the par-4 No. 2. It is one of just two eagles so far in the tournament. Patricia Sinolungan of North Texas has the other coming on the sixth hole on Tuesday.
Freshman Emily McLatchey is tied for the fifth-most pars with 22 over the two rounds. Fellow freshman Katie Potter dropped her score by one stroke and had one birdie in the second round.
After leading at the end of the first round, Florida Atlantic fell back to third behind No. 49 UTSA and No. 44 North Texas. The Roadrunners hold a two-stroke lead over the defending champions Mean Green with one round to go. Letizia Bagnoli of Florida Atlantic is still tops on the leaderboard with a five-shot lead over Ana Gonzalez of UTSA.
