Women’s Golf Set for Conference USA Championships

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – The Marshall women's golf team is back on the course for the Conference USA Championships, April 18-20, at the PGA National Resort.
The event will be played on the Championship Course which is a par-72, with total yardage of 6,154. The teams play one round of 18 holes each day, Monday through Wednesday. Tee times on Monday begin at 7:50 a.m. on the first and 10th holes. Live scoring is provided by GolfStat.com.
Competing for the Thundering Herd will be fifth-year senior Stormy Randazzo, senior Jackie Schmidt, junior Makena Rauch, and freshmen Emily McLatchey and Katie Potter. Marshall will start the first round on the back-nine. Potter will be the first Herd player to tee off at 7:50 a.m. She will be followed by McLatchey (8:00), Rauch (8:10), Schmidt (8:20) and Randazzo (8:30).
The Herd is coming off tying for sixth place at the Colonel Classic, April 4-5, to end the regular season. Randazzo had a great performance shooting a 74 in the second and third rounds to finish tied for 11th, leading the team. Schmidt rebounded from a rough start to fire a 1-over 73 in the third round and jump up to 25th.
Marshall is one of 12 teams competing, including four programs ranked in the GolfStat Top 100. The other teams are (No. 100) Old Dominion, Middle Tennessee, Southern Miss, (No. 44) North Texas, (No. 49) UTSA, (No. 74) Charlotte, UTEP, UAB, Florida Atlantic, WKU and FIU.
North Texas is the defending C-USA Champions. Randazzo led Marshall at the 2021 Championships finishing 29th. She scored a 1-over 73 in the second round.
