Women’s Golf Set for Colonel Classic

Three-round, two-day tournament April 4-5
RICHMOND, Ky. – The Marshall women's golf team is back in action at the Colonel Classic, hosted by Eastern Kentucky. The tournament is played at the University Club at Arlington.
The course is a par 72 with total yardage of 5,910. Live scoring is provided by GolfStat.com.
The teams will play two rounds on Monday, April 4, and then one final round on Tuesday, April 5. The first round tees off with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday will also begin with a shotgun start at 9 a.m.
Competing for the Thundering Herd will be fifth-year senior Stormy Randazzo, senior Jackie Schmidt, junior Makena Rauch, and freshmen Katie Potter and Emily McLatchey.
Marshall is one of 13 teams competing in the event. Along with the host EKU the other programs are Cincinnati, Northern Illinois, Cleveland State, North Alabama, Dayton, Akron, Ball State, Bellarmine, Belmont, Butler and Georgia State. Kentucky sent one player who will be playing as an individual.
The Herd is coming off a 13th place finish at the Golfweek Any Given Tuesday Intercollegiate, March 28-30. Randazzo led the team tying for 11th overall. Schmidt had a great third round scoring a 1-under 71 and shot par or better on 16-of-18 holes. Potter and Rauch both lowered their scores in the third round as well and moved up the leaderboard.
