Perry Stands Third after Heptathlon’s First Day

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Marshall freshman Krista Perry currently stands third in the heptathlon at the 2022 Conference USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, a meet that is being contested at the Park West Athletics Complex in San Antonio.
Perry's total through four events is 2885 points, with the long jump, javelin and 800 meter run to come tomorrow.
The West Liberty, Kentucky native finished third in every event Thursday. She completed the 100 hurdles with a time of 14.43 seconds, the high jump with a mark of 1.50 meters, the shot put with a toss of 10.86 meters and the 200 meters with a time of 26.43 seconds.
The shot put mark and 200-meter time represented lifetime bests. Her high jump mark was just shy of a lifetime best by two centimeters and her hurdle time was two-tenths shy of her best.
The final three events begin at 5:30 p.m. ET/4:30 CT, along with the hammer throw. The 10,000 meters will be contested at 10 ET/9 CT.
