Thundering Herd see podium efforts pay off
DALLAS – Marshall's MaryAnn Adebayo, Mikah Alleyne, Jillian King, Erica Murphy and Ashonti Warner all garnered All-Conference USA Outdoor Track and Field honors Thursday afternoon from the league office.
Adebayo made the third team based off her bronze medal performance (56.39 meters) in last week's hammer throw at the C-USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in San Antonio.
Alleyne was selected to the second team following her runner-up finishes in the 400 Meters (school-record 53.23 seconds) and 4 x 400 Meter Relay (3:42.12). She was joined on that relay by King, Murphy and Warner.
Warner also recorded a silver medal finish in the 400 Hurdles in another school record time of 58.04 seconds to make that second team and picked up a third team honor in the 100 Hurdles (13.68 seconds).
As a team, Marshall tied its Conference USA-best mark of 63 team points at the league meet, originally set in 2013.
