Marshall is in eighth after two rounds
MUNCIE, Ind. – Marshall men's golf senior Tyler Jones is tied for fifth after the first two rounds at the Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational on Friday. The Herd sits in eighth place after day one.
"We had a pretty good day today," Marshall men's golf coach Matt Grobe said after the first day of play. "Delaware Country Club is a very tricky course and the guys were seeing it this week for the first time. Tyler (Jones) played really good today. He just commits to put solid round after solid round for us. Christian (Boyd) and Ryan (Bilby) both kept their good play from the summer. Joseph (Kalasky) really fought hard in the second round and put a good score up for us. Clayton (Thomas) played well for his first collegiate tournament. We are looking forward to the final round tomorrow."
Boyd shot a +2 (72) in the first round and followed up with an even-par second. Jones, Christian Boyd and Ryan Bilby each had seven birdies across the first two rounds.
