Herd Women’s Soccer Attempts to Break Attendance Record Thursday Against ODU

Program looks to surpass the mark of 1,433 set in 2013 with 2,000 fans.

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – No stranger to setting marks in 2023, the Marshall women's soccer team (6-4-1) hosts Old Dominion (8-1-2) Thursday night at Hoops Family Field. Kickoff is set for 6:00 p.m.
The current attendance record for a women's soccer match in Huntington is 1,433 set on Aug. 23, 2013. The Herd will attempt to not only surpass the mark, but reach 2,000 fans through its Push 2K Together initiative.

PRE-MATCH NOTES
- Marshall's 2-1 win over Troy was the team's third road result of the season. MU defeated Morehead State on the road before drawing at Indiana State.
- The Herd's Bailey Fisher scored her league-leading fourth game-winning goal of the season in her second half header.
- Freshman Ashlyn Drayer picked up her first career win in goal. The Ohio native made eight saves in the win.

ABOUT THE MONARCHS
- Old Dominion is 8-1-2 overall and 3-1 in Sun Belt Conference play this season.
- The Monarchs have statistically dominated in goals, scoring 19 and only allowing three all season.
- Ece Turkoglu leads the team with four of the 19 goals, despite only having started in eight matches.
