Marshall Women’s Soccer Travels to Boone to Face App State

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Following a narrow result Thursday, Marshall's women's soccer team (6-5-1) travels to face App State (5-4-3). Kickoff from a chilly Boone will be at 1:00 p.m. Sunday.

PRE-MATCH NOTES
- Leading the league in attendance, over 1,100 fans saw Marshall narrowly fall to East-leading Old Dominion, 2-1
- Marshall sophomore Bailey Fisher scored her fifth goal of the year. Her five goals are tied for sixth in the conference.
- Freshman goalkeeper Ashlyn Drayer has made an impact in net, Drayer has made 14 saves in three starts.

ABOUT THE MOUNTAINEERS
- App State and Marshall battled in the Sun Belt Conference tournament last season, with Marshall winning 2-1 in double overtime.
- The Mountaineers are led by Izzi Wood who has also scored five goals in 2023. Her 53 shots are the most in the conference.
- Marshall and App State have met on six previous occasions, twice in Boone. The Herd leads the all-time series 5-0-1.
