Three-game set with Chanticleers opens Friday evening
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Marshall softball continues its seven-game road trip with a series against Coastal Carolina. The series opener is scheduled for Friday at 6:00 p.m.

- Marshall trails only #1 Oklahoma in team batting average. The Herd posts a league-leading .362 mark.The Herd also leads the SBC in ERA (1.30), OBP (.451), and stolen bases (92).
- Marshall pitchers have now combined for eight games with 10 or more strikeouts, Savannah Rice and Sydney Nester have pitched four apiece.
- Junior Autumn Owen is leading the conference and remains second in the country with 16 home runs. Owen's 60 RBI is tied for the program record for most in a season.

- Coastal plays a style familiar to Marshall's 2022 team, leading the Sun Belt in home runs per game (1.22).The team's .312 batting average is second in the league behind the Herd's .362 average.
- Diamond Williams is the catalyst of the team's offense, leading with a .378 average and 11 home runs, which is second behind Owen.Â
- The pitching staff is led by the duo of Nicolette Picone and Mady Volpe, both of whom post sub-2 ERAs.
- Veteran coach Kelley Green is in her 14th season at the beach, posting a 429-312 record with the Chants.
