HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall men's soccer head coach announced the addition of Kyle Sniatecki to the staff as an assistant coach, on Thursday.

"I'm so happy to bring Kyle back onto our staff, Grassie said. "He was with us for two seasons during some of our most successful times, and he certainly contributed to that success. He's a hardworking, diligent coach, but is still eager to learn and grow. He's also deeply rooted in our community as a Marshall Alum and youth soccer coach. I know he shares my excitement about our squad this year, and we're both eager to get the season started."

Sniatecki returns to the Herd after one season away from the program. During his first season in 2020-21, Marshall won its second-consecutive Conference USA Championship with a 2-0 victory over 12th-ranked Charlotte at Hoops Family Field, earning its second-straight trip to the NCAA Tournament. From there, the Herd went on to takedown No. 3 Indiana 1-0 in overtime to win the 2020 College Cup National Championship. Marshall's staff was named the United Soccer Coaches Southeast Region Coaching Staff of the Year in 2020 as well as the National Coaching Staff of the Year.

"I'm excited to re-join the Marshall men's soccer family," Sniatecki said. "Chris has built a Championship program and culture that I wanted to be part of again. I'm excited to get back to work with the team, staff and community."

In 2021, Marshall won double-digit matches for the third-straight year, program's longest streak since 1995-98, with 11 more wins. The Herd was ranked in the top 25 throughout the season and earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament. Marshall's defense set two more team records with seven-straight clean sheets and a span of 760 minutes and 37 seconds without conceding a goal. From 2019 through 2021, the Herd's defense has earned 28 shutouts, the most in a three-year span in team history.

Sniatecki had played for Herd from 2008-11 as a defender. He appeared in 58 matches with 28 starts. He scored two goals.
