Herd's Tyler Jones Named GCAA All-American Scholar

Herd senior has excelled on course, in classroom
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall senior golfer Tyler Jones was named an All-American Scholar by the Golf Coaches Association of America on Wednesday.
Jones excelled in the 2022-23 calendar year on the course and in the classroom.
In addition to leading Marshall in stroke average for the year, Jones finished the 2022-23 academic year with a 3.74 grade point average, which included a perfect 4.0 during Marshall men's golf's competition season in Spring 2023.
"Tyler has once again added another award to his vast collection here at Marshall," Marshall men's golf coach Matt Grobe said. "Tyler is a wonderful leader that excels on the course, in the community and in the classroom. This award is a direct reflection of his work ethic and dedication to being the best at everything he does."
The Westerville, Ohio, native won a pair of golf tournaments in the Fall 2022 season, taking medalist honors at the 2022 Joe Feaganes Marshall Invitational and also at the 2022 Dayton Flyer Invitational.
Jones returns to Marshall for Fall 2023 as the all-time leader in stroke average in Marshall men's golf history.
