PRE-MATCH NOTES
- Marshall leads the country in goal differential at 14.
- MU is off to its best start under head coach Chris Grassie and is tied with the 2000 team for the best start in program history at 4-0.
- In the Herd's last 10 contests, it has given up just four goals, going 7-2-1 during that stretch.
- MU also sits atop the national leaderboard with 46 points, has scored the most goals with 15 and is tied for the national lead in assists at 16 with Portland.
- With 6.25 total shots and 2.75 shots on goal per game, Alvaro Garcia-Pascual ranks first and fourth in Division I men's soccer, respectively, with his three assists ranking in a tie for sixth. The junior has tallied a goal in three consecutive games.
- After his career-high three assist night at Pitt, Matthew Bell leads the country with 11 points, while ranking in a tie for sixth in both goals (4) and assists (3).
- Marco Silva tallied his fourth goal of the season ranking in a tie for sixth nationally with Bell.
ABOUT THE PANTHERS
- High Point enters the match 1-0-1 after drawing with Saint Peter's 1-1 and defeating Evansville 2-1. Friday will be HPU's first match in a week.
- The Panthers lead Division I men's soccer with 21.5 shots per match, ahead of the Herd's 21.0.
- High Point ranks second nationally in shots on goal per game with 9.5.
