Women’s Soccer Picks Up Road Point At Southern Miss

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Marshall women's soccer (3-5-3, 1-2-2 SBC) earned a valuable road point with a 3-3 draw at Southern Miss (1-7-3, 0-3-3 SBC) Thursday afternoon.
With the Herd trailing early, the match shifted in Marshall's favor with midfielder Ami Komori's 21st minute long strike.

Komori - one of 19 newcomers to the 2024 Herd roster - transferred from St. Bonaventure where she was her team's leading scorer last season.
The Otsu, Japan native provided the assist as well to freshman Brooklyn McComas in the 42nd minute to give Marshall the halftime advantage.

The second half was evenly played until Marshall's pressure-style offense allowed junior Bailey Fisher to make a run from midfield, giving Coach Rafa Simoes' side a 3-1 lead in the 79th.

Unfortunately for the Herd, Southern Miss found goals in the 86th and 90th minutes to level the contest, sharing the points for both sides.
