Know Before You Go - Opening Weekend for Herd Baseball, Softball

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – It's almost time for the GRAND OPENING of the Marshall's new baseball stadium at Jack Cook Field and to welcome Morgan Zerkle back to Dot Hicks Field as Marshall Softball's new head coach.
 
Softball faces Bellarmine on Wednesday, Feb. 28 at 4 p.m. in its Fans First Game. Come out to Dot Hicks Field to support Coach Zerkle in her opening game in Huntington. Admission is free and there will be a Marshall Water Bottle Giveaway to the first 100 fans!

Friday, March 1
2 p.m. – Gates Open
2:35 p.m. – Be in your seats for the Opening Day Pre-Game Ceremony
2:50 p.m. – Honorary Starting Lineup takes the field
2:55 p.m. – First Pitch – Rick Reed
3:07 p.m. – Herd Baseball Intro Video and Starting Lineup
3:09 p.m. – National Anthem being performed by The Voice contestant Rachel Messer, Woodman Life's Big American Flag Display, Bill Noe Flight School Flyover
3:12 p.m. – First Pitch
 
Saturday, March 2
2 p.m. – Gates Open

All single-game tickets through Marshall Athletics are standing room only at Jack Cook Field. Tickets for all 2024 home games will be available HERE.
 
Limited reserved season tickets remain for the 2024 season, as well. Fans who are interested in purchasing season tickets can do so HERE. Fans who purchase standing room only tickets are permitted to bring in a lawn chair. Chairs can only be set up in the grass areas or the right field concrete patio.
 
Fans who are looking to purchase single-game reserved seating tickets are encouraged to purchase through SeatGeek.

Admission is free for all Marshall Softball games.
 
Parking Information
 
Free parking for all Marshall Baseball/Softball games is available in the West Lot along 20th Street right next to Joan C Edwards Stadium.
 
For opening weekend, March 1-3, free parking is also available in the ACF lot on the corner of 24th street and 3rd Ave. There is a strict "No Tailgating" policy in the ACF lot.
 
ADA Parking - Limited handicap parking is available in this lot adjacent to 2nd Ave on a first come first served basis for every game.
 
Gate Baseball Information
 
There are three main entry points to Jack Cook Field:
 
  • 1st Base Gate - Located next to the Ticket Office and would be the best entry point for anyone who is purchasing a walk-up ticket on gameday.
 
  • Home Plate Gate - Must already have ticket purchased to enter.
 
  • 3rd Base Gate - Must already have ticket purchased to enter.
 
Other Information
 
Marshall Athletics has a Clear Bag Policy for ALL its venues.
 
Baseball: There are two concession stands at Jack Cook Field. Both concession stands are located at the ends of the press box and suite areas. There are also restrooms located on each side of the main concourse.
 
Softball: There is one concession stand at Dot Hicks Field, located on the visiting team side of the press box. Bathrooms are located on the back of the press box.
 
The use of credit cards is strongly encouraged at Jack Cook Field, as we look to move the venue to completely cashless in the future.
