  • Marshall's Sydney Bickel had nine hits last weekend, going 9-for-16 from the plate (.563). The Preseason All-Conference Shortstop has three home runs and is sporting a team-high .447 average with a team-best 21 hits.
  • Bickel has been a big part of the Herd defensively as well. MU posts the second-best fielding percentage in the conference (.975) with all 15 games coming on dirt infields.
  • Freshman pitcher Kaleea Washington picked up her first two collegiate wins last weekend in Arizona. Washington is one of three pitchers who have won a game in the circle this season for the Herd (Bub Feringa and Savannah Rice).

ABOUT THE KNIGHTS

  • Bellarmine is 5-5 on the year with its most recent win being its best, a 5-1 victory over Butler Sunday.
  • Junior infielder Chloe Collins from Flatwoods, Kentucky leads the Knights with a .327 average. Collins had a 3-for-3 game with four RBI in the team's win over St. Bonaventure earlier this month.
  • Junior Claire Lehmkuhler has established herself as the staff's ace. She has a 1.65 ERA with over 34.0 innings pitched.

After Wednesday's game, Marshall will host the Thundering Herd Invitational with Butler, Purdue, and Radford coming to Huntington starting Friday.
