Herd Baseball Falters in Morgantown to WVU

Ferraro, Havrilla each register two hits

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The Marshall University Baseball team (6-14) fell to the West Virginia Mountaineers (12-9), 15-0, on Wednesday at Monongalia County Ballpark in Morgantown.
Gio Ferraro and AJ Havrilla each had two hit days at the plate, with both players having a pair of singles. It marked Ferraro's sixth multi-hit effort of the season, tied with Owen Ayers for the team lead.
Cam Harthan extended his on-base streak to seven games with a single top of the ninth.
On the mound, Nick Jodway, Alex McKay and Jensen Seculer combined to throw the final three innings in perfect fashion.
The Mountaineers damage came in the first five innings with five runs in the first, six in the third, one in the fourth and three in the fifth.

Marshall welcomes Arkansas State for the team's Sun Belt Conference home opener on Friday at Jack Cook Field. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m.
