McIlvaine, McLatchey both in top-20 in Wilmington
WALLACE, N.C. – Marshall's Women's Golf team sits in seventh place after Day One of the River Landing Classic at River Landing Country Club in Wallace, North Carolina.
Marshall has a pair of players in the top-20 as we head into Tuesday's final round of action at the tournament, which is hosted by UNC Wilmington.
Kasey McIlvaine finished with four birdies in her second round to shoot Even-par 72, which left her in a tie for 14th place after 36 holes of play on Monday.
McIlvaine birdied three of five holes during a stretch of her second round, which helped to turn the corner and vault her into the top-20.
Emily McLatchey started the day with the Herd's best round – a 1-over 73 – and maintained her top-20 position heading into the final day as well.
Competing as an individual, Kylie Bowes also provided some highlights for the Herd, sinking three birdies over a seven-hole stretch of her second round to shoot a 2-over 74.
Action for the Herd gets underway at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday with a shotgun start. The Herd will start from Hole Nos. 11 to 15 and will be paired with Princeton and North Carolina A&T.
