Marshall Softball Hosts App State for Senior Weekend

Three games will be final regular season home series at Dot Hicks Field
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Marshall softball (21-24, 7-11 SBC) is jockeying for postseason positioning in a home series against App State (19-24, 4-14 SBC) over the weekend at Dot Hicks Field.Â
Friday's series opener in Huntington is at 6 p.m. for Marshall's final home series of the season.Â
The entire series will be Senior Weekend, with on-field ceremonies taking place Saturday. For home promotions for the entire weekend, view HERE.

PREGAME NOTES
- Marshall is currently 9th out of 12 teams in the loaded Sun Belt Conference. The Herd is within two games of 6th place and receiving a single-bye in the SBC Championship next month. For full standings, view HERE.Â
- The Herd will be celebrating seven seniors prior to Saturday's game. Sydney Bickel, Reagan Glanz, Erica Holt, Camryn Michallas, Lydia Montague, Savannah Rice, and Kasey Wilhoit will be part of an on-field ceremony before the contest Saturday.Â
- Marshall is 6-2 all-time against App State. Friday will be the first time the two sides have met in Huntington.Â
ABOUT THE MOUNTAINEERS
- App is 19-24 this season, trailing the Herd by three games entering the weekend series.  Â
- Senior Kayt Houston is the offensive catalyst for the Mountaineers, ranking 2nd in the league in Batting Average (.423) and OPS (1.195). She was named to the All-SBC Preseason Team. Â
- A trio of pitchers carry the weight for App State in the circle, with junior Sejal Neas leading the team in innings pitched (116.0), wins (9), and ERA (3.26).
