NEW ORLEANS – Marshall University Baseball pitcher Bryce Blevins was named the Sun Belt Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week for the fourth time this season, as announced by the league office on Tuesday.

Blevins joins rarified air as he becomes just the third player in SBC history to win four weekly awards in the same season. The lefty joins Texas State infielder Dalton Shuffield who won four in 2022 and Arkansas State pitcher Taylor Fowler who won five in 2005. The Sun Belt began giving out weekly awards since 1985.

Blevins dealt on the bump as he had another career outing in a win on Saturday against Georgia State. He dazzled on the mound in his sixth quality start of the season striking out a career-high 11 batters which came across 7.0 innings of work. The sophomore allowed just one run on four hits and a walk for his third win of the season.

Blevins lowered his ERA to an SBC-best 2.59 as his 26 looking strikeouts lead the conference with his 65 fans of opposing batters sitting in fifth.

Herd Baseball is back in action on Wednesday when it hosts the Ohio Bobcats at 6 p.m. at Jack Cook Field.
