Friday will mark the second consecutive season in which Marshall will host the Thundering Herd Invitational. The 2023 edition was the first time since the 1989 season where Marshall cross country held a home meet.
"Being the first meet of the year, this is a really good opportunity to see where the team is at," Marshall head cross country coach Caleb Bowen said. "With it being 5,000 meters, it will be a little bit shorter of a distance for the men while the women will go back and forth between 5,000 and 6,000 meters all season long, so we're just trying to get a baseline of where our fitness levels are at and just to see how the dynamics of our team shape up. We are excited to see where our newcomers are at and we aim to have a good solid race."
"Fans can expect a fast race on a fast course and hopefully they will see some great performances out of the Herd!"
