Marshall looks to keep momentum off Joe Feaganes Invitational title
DAVIDSON, N.C. – Marshall Men's Golf looks to keep its momentum from a season-opening victory when the team travels to River Run Country Club in Davidson, N.C. for the River Run Collegiate.
The 54-hole event features 36 holes on Monday's first day of action before Tuesday's final round of action. Action gets underway at 9 a.m. with a shotgun start each day.
"We are really looking forward to playing the River Run Collegiate," Marshall Men's Golf coach Matt Grobe said. "River Run is an awesome golf course, and Davidson is always a good host."
Players scheduled to compete for Marshall include Ryan Bilby, J.F. Aber, Cameron Jarvis, Clayton Thomas and Joseph Kalaskey. Andrew Wyss will compete as an individual.
Marshall is coming off individual and team victories in the 2024 Joe Feaganes Marshall Invitational as Cameron Jarvis claimed the title en route to SBC Men's Golfer of the Week while the Thundering Herd won the team event by 15 strokes over second-place Longwood.
"We got the year off to a good start last week and hopefully, we will carry that momentum down to Davidson," Grobe said.
In addition to Jarvis' winning performance and second-round 64, the Herd got a record-setting performance from Thomas, who tied the Marshall program record with a 9-under 62.
Wyss had a final round 5-under 66 at the Feaganes Invitational while Aber also wrapped up his first tournament with the Herd by notching five straight birdies en route to a final round 4-under 67 that vaulted him to a tie for 3rd place with Thomas.
