McLatchey’s 1-over 73 leads Herd in final round
SIMPSONVILLE, Ky. – Marshall senior Emily McLatchey finished with a 1-over 73 on Sunday to lead the Thundering Herd in the final round of the 2024 Cardinal Cup at University of Louisville Golf Club.
The effort helped McLatchey to a top-30 finish at the event. Marshall's team finished 12th overall.
McLatchey finished with four birdies on the day – each coming in a pair of two-hole bursts at Nos. 15 and 16 – her first two holes of the day – and on Nos. 1 and 2.
In addition to McLatchey's effort, Marshall's Madison Borders and Abbey Bull each finished with a pair of 76s.
Sunday's round concluded the first tournament of the year for the Thundering Herd, who now looks ahead to the Tot Hill Farm Invitational, hosted by the College of Charleston in Asheboro, N.C., from Sept. 23-24.
