Women’s Soccer Continues Road Swing At Texas State

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – After securing a road point in its Sun Belt Conference opener Sunday, Marshall women's soccer (2-3-2, 0-0-1 SBC) travels to the Lone Star State to face Texas State (4-3-3, 0-0-1 SBC).
Kickoff from San Marcos is at 8 p.m. eastern, 7 p.m. Texas time.

PRE-MATCH NOTES
- Marshall drew at Georgia State in the league opener for Coach Rafa Simoes and the Herd. The result was MU's first road point since Sept. 30, 2023 at Troy.
- Junior Bailey Fisher's equalizer Sunday was the Hurricane, W.Va. native's first goal of the season. The goal was Marshall's first on the road this year as well.
- Goalkeeper Alexis Wolgemuth made four crucial saves to secure the road draw. She is third in the league in goals against average and saves.

ABOUT THE BOBCATS
- Texas State is 4-3-3, also opening conference play with a draw. TXST drew 1-1 against Louisiana in Lafayette. Veteran Head Coach Steve Holeman has won 25 of his 309 career victories with the Bobcats.
- Junior Mady Soumare leads the team with five goals. Her five goals rank third in the SBC.
- The Herd broke out with a 4-1 victory over the Bobcats in Huntington in 2022 in the only meeting between the programs. Marshall is 1-3 all-time in the state of Texas.
