Joe Feaganes Invitational Kicks Off 2024-25 Season For Men’s Golf

Bilby leads Marshall into home event as the new year gets underway
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall University Athletics is proud to host the Joe Feaganes Marshall Invitational, starting Monday at Guyan Golf and Country Club.
The 54-hole event features 13 teams and gets underway with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. on Monday morning. Monday's action will feature 36 holes at the 6,523-yard course.
The tournament, named for Marshall Hall of Famer and esteemed former coach Joe Feaganes, is the starting event for the 2024-25 year.
"It's always exciting to open our season with our home tournament at Guyan," Marshall head coach Matt Grobe said. "The guys had a really good summer and I really like what I've seen in qualifying so far this year. This is an event that we look forward to each year and it is always a privilege to welcome other teams to the Tri-State area."
Marshall returns several key figures for the 2024-25 season, including seniors Ryan Bilby, Cameron Jarvis, Joseph Kalaskey and Clayton Thomas. The Herd also adds in graduate transfer J.F. Aber, who rounds out those competing for Marshall in the team portion of competition this week.
Herd team members competing as individuals this week include Ben Bridges, Tanner Vest, Andrew Wyss, Sammy Shy, Bennett Zeitner and Cael Ropietski.
Following Monday's first round, the teams will take the course again for the afternoon session at approximately 1:30 p.m. to complete the first 36 holes.
Tuesday's action will also be an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start for the final round of tournament play. The awards ceremony is expected to start at approximately 2 p.m.
