Herd Tennis Set for Home Opening Weekend

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall University Tennis team (2-0) readies for its home opening weekend with matches against the EKU Colonels (3-2) on Friday at 4 p.m. and against the Bellarmine Knights (0-3) on Sunday at 10 a.m.

PREMATCH NOTES

The Herd captured a pair of wins last weekend defeating Cleveland State and Youngstown State each by a final of 4-3.
Alina Mokrynskaya went a perfect 4-0 last weekend, 2-0 in doubles and 2-0 in singles, clinching both contests with her singles' victories. The freshman fought off five match points in the second set of her singles contest at YSU to force a third set to seal the match.
Sophia Hurrion also went 4-0 on the weekend with Mokrynskaya as her doubles partner and taking both of her singles' contests.

SCOUTING EKU

The Colonels have a home match against Lindsey Wilson on Friday before traveling for match against The Herd Friday evening.
Marilou Cote is 4-1 in singles with a 2-0 record in the number two position.

SCOUTING BELLARMINE

The Knights have a contest in Greensboro, North Carolina, against Elon on Friday before coming back North for Sunday's contest.
Nikola Kollaritsch took her singles match on court four at Samford on January 18.
