Herd Volleyball Travels to Georgia Southern for First Road SBC Matches

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall University Volleyball team (8-7, 0-2 SBC) heads south to Statesboro, Georgia, to face Georgia Southern (11-2, 2-0 SBC) for its first road Sun Belt Conference matches on Friday and Saturday.

PRE-MATCH NOTES

The Herd fell in its opening two SBC matches of the season at home to Coastal Carolina last weekend.
As a team, Marshall sits second in the conference in total assists and digs at 640 and 848, respectively.
Emma Sayre sits at 228 digs, third most in the SBC, as Bella Thompson ranks fourth with 392.

SCOUTING GEORGIA SOUTHERN

The Eagles enter the weekend on a two-match winning streak after sweeping Old Dominion in a pair of matches in Norfolk, Virginia, last weekend.
GS holds opponents to a .144 attacking percentage, the eighth best in the nation.
Kirsten Barrett leads the SBC in aces per set (0.56) and assists per set (10.24).
