ATHENS, Ohio – The Marshall University Swimming and Diving completed its tri meet against Ohio and Buffalo in Athens on Saturday with seven top-three finishes.
The Herd fell 180-173 to the Bulls and 247-106 to the Bobcats.
"A lot of adjustments were made, but still some technical aspects individually we can commit to more," Herd Swimming and Diving Head Coach Ian Walsh said. "Some close races down the stretch got away from us. Overall, I'm pleased with the two session meet. The team is looking forward to getting back this week, and prepare for our road trip to JMU."
Maddie Emment took the 500 Freestyle in 4:56.70 as Kseniia Luniushina won the 100 Backstroke with a time of 54.67.
Emment followed up with second place in the 200 Freestyle 1:50.94 with Lauren McNamara finishing second in the 100 Butterfly at 54.52.
MU had three third-place finishes with Elyse Wood in the 50 Freestyle (23.53), Molly Warner in the 400 IM (4:25.04) and Wood, Luniushina, Preslava Toseheva, and Emment in the 400 Freestyle Relay (3:26.42).
