Marshall Men’s Basketball Readies for Home Opener Against Elon

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall University Men's Basketball team (2-0) returns to Huntington after a pair of road wins to host Elon for the team's 2025-26 home opening game. Tipoff on Wednesday is scheduled for 7 p.m.

PRE-GAME NOTES

Marshall captured its first win in Toledo since 2017 on Saturday, overcoming a double-digit halftime deficit.
Through two contests, the Herd leads the Sun Belt with 23.0 assists per game and 17.0 turnovers forced per contest.
Matt Van Komen, a transfer from Elon, is one of three players in the country to not miss a shot this season as he is 11-for-11 from the field averaging 11.0 points per game.
At 6.5 assists per game, Noah Otshudi leads SBC while adding 11.5 points per contest.

ABOUT THE PHOENIX

Elon started the season 2-0 with wins over Belmont Abbey and UNCG last week.
The Phoenix ranks fifth nationally in assist/turnover ratio at 3.50 assists per turnover and only turning the ball over just six times in the first two games.
Chandler Cuthrell is averaging a team-high 20.5 points per game with Kacper Klaczek averaging 18.5 points and 9.5 rebounds per game.
