Herd Baseball Releases 2026 Schedule

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall Baseball Head Coach Greg Beals unveiled the team's 2026 schedule on Tuesday. The slate features 25 games to be played at Jack Cook Field.

"We are excited about the 2026 season and building upon the growth and success we saw last season," Beals said. "We have put together a very competitive schedule. It is designed to give us the strength of schedule necessary to earn an at-large bid into the NCAA tournament, provided we win our share of games. The Sun Belt schedule will always be tough, but we really focused on beefing up the midweek games with schools such as Kentucky, Louisville and Ohio State as well as WVU and Virginia Tech. We will again play WVU three times, with games in Morgantown, Huntington and Charleston. We will begin to play Virginia Tech both at home and at their place each season. The agreement with Kentucky includes a future game here at Marshall. Our beautiful Jack Cook Field is absolutely a key piece to making this happen."

The Herd opens the season at the Kennesaw State Tournament with games against Kennesaw State and Evansville from February 13-15.

MU's home-opening series is to be played against Butler (Feb. 27-Mar. 1) with a home series the following weekend against St. Bonaventure (Mar. 6-8).

The 2026 schedule also features three games against the West Virginia Mountaineers set for March 24 in Huntington, April 7 in Morgantown and May 5 at GoMart Ballpark in Charleston.

Non-conference play also features home-and-home games with Virginia Tech, Ohio and Morehead State with Marshall also going to Louisville for a pair of games (Mar. 10-11), Kentucky (Mar. 18) and Ohio State (April 15).

The Herd opens Sun Belt play at home with a series against Georgia State (Mar. 13-15). Other SBC teams coming to Jack Cook Field in 2026 include National Runner-Up Coastal Carolina (Mar. 27-29), Old Dominion (Apr. 10-12), Troy (Apr. 24-26) and ULM (May 8-10).

During SBC action, MU travels to Georgia Southern (Mar. 20-22), App State (Apr. 2-4), South Alabama (Apr. 17-19) and James Madison (May 1-3) before closing out the regular season at Texas State (May 14-16).

The Sun Belt Conference Tournament is set to played in Montgomery, Alabama, from May 19-24.
