Marshall’s Ryan Bilby Maintains Lead At Loyola Intercollegiate

Herd senior fires a 1-under 71 in 2nd Round to share lead heading into final round
GOODYEAR, Ariz. – Marshall senior Ryan Bilby is tied for the lead heading into the final round of the Loyola Intercollegiate.
Bilby fired his second consecutive round-under-par on Monday, shooting a 1-under 71 that has him atop the leaderboard at 10-under for the tournament at Palm Valley Golf Club in Goodyear, Ariz.
It was a bright note on a day where Marshall battled hard to stay in the upper echelon of teams in the tournament. The Herd is currently tied for 8th place at Even-par overall.
"We got off to a slow start today, but the guys battled hard and kept fighting," Marshall head coach Matt Grobe said. "We have two rounds under our belt in spring now, so hopefully, we are starting to feel a little more comfortable. Ryan had a solid round of 1-under to stay atop the leaderboard and we are looking forward to finishing strong on Tuesday."
Bilby finished with five birdies on the day, giving him 15 through two rounds, entering Tuesday's final round. The senior from Follansbee had a late surge that included birdies on three of his final six holes of the day.
In addition to Bilby, teammate J.F. Aber had a successful round on Monday, matching Bilby with five birdies en route to a 1-over 73 that helped him ascend up the leaderboard.
Other highlights included Andrew Wyss finishing his day at 2-over to settle in at 1-over for the tournament heading to the final round. Clayton Thomas and Joseph Kalaskey each had two birdies apiece en route to rounds of 75 and 78 respectively.
