Marshall’s Ryan Bilby Earns A T-2 Finish At Loyola Intercollegiate

Bilby’s third consecutive round-under-par highlights strong day for Herd team
GOODYEAR, Ariz. – Marshall senior Ryan Bilby shot a 2-under 70 to finish the Loyola Intercollegiate at 12-under, which was good for a T-2 finish.
It was Bilby's third consecutive round-under-par and concluded a banner day on the course for the Herd, who finished at 9-under as a team to finish 7th out of 19 teams.
"It was a really good first week for us," Marshall Men's Golf coach Matt Grobe said. "Ryan played great all week to finish 2nd and started his spring with three under-par rounds. The team really looked good today and posted the second lowest team round of the day."
Bilby led the entire field of 116 players with 21 birdies on the week en route to the T-2 finish.
Tuesday's top round went to senior Joseph Kalaskey, who shot a 5-under 67, which tied for the fourth-best final round in the field.
Senior J.F. Aber also went low in Tuesday's final round, shooting a 3-under 69 with only one bogey on the day.
"Joseph had a great round with two eagles for a 5-under 67 and J.F. played very solid in shooting a 69," Grobe said. "We've got a couple weeks off when we get home to try and address a few things."
Herd senior Clayton Thomas also finished a consistent week in which he shot his second 1-over 73 of the tournament to round out the team scoring on the day.
Marshall Men's Golf now returns home for a break before competing in the Sea Palms Invitational at St. Simons Island, Georgia from March 13-15.
