The DMR win capped a day with four Herd podium finishes to start the Indoor SBC Championships.
The Herd's Addison Painter scored a second-place finish in Men's Long Jump. The graduate transfer who set new distances for the men's program twice in the regular season jumped 7.38 meters to finish second.
Junior Lara Check and graduate senior Rebecca Merritt each finished third with personal-best marks in the Pentathlon and Women's Weight Throw respectively. Check scored 3,768 points across five events, including a win in the Long Jump. Merritt threw 19.58 meters in her final-career Weight Throw event.
After day one, the Marshall women sit in fourth, having scored 22 points across the three events. Mastin, Woodruff, Wyler, and freshman Destiny Berryman also qualified individually for the finals in distance events set for Tuesday.
