Women’s Basketball Hosts Central Michigan For Annual Sweetheart Clinic Game

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Marshall women's basketball (7-16) takes a one-game hiatus from Sun Belt Conference play to host Central Michigan (9-13) as part of the second-leg of the MAC-SBC Challenge.
Tip is at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 8 to culminate the festivities of the Annual Marshall University Sweetheart Clinic.

Coach Juli Fulks
- On Apr. 12, 2024, Coach Juli Fulks became the ninth head coach in the history of the Herd.
- Fulks - the 2024 WBCA DIII Coach of the Year - joins Marshall with 400 career victories in 20 seasons, winning the 2023 NCAA Division III Women's Basketball National Championship.
PRE-GAME NOTES
- Marshall is hosting its first game in the 2nd Annual MAC-SBC Challenge. After not taking part last season, the Herd opened the 2024-25 season at Toledo as part of the opening leg, falling to the currently 16-5 Rockets.
- Saturday's game will be the latest non-conference regular season game the Herd has played since facing West Virginia in the Chesapeake Energy Capital Classic in Charleston on Jan. 17, 2012.
- Junior CC Mays has set career-highs in scoring in each of her last two games. The Tampa, Fla. native scored 27 in her 101st career game for the Herd Wednesday at Louisiana.
- Redshirt freshman Timberlynn Yeast earned her first-career collegiate start Wednesday. The Harrodsburg, Ky. native is averaging 3.4 PPG.

ABOUT CENTRAL MICHIGAN
- Central Michigan is 9-13 overall and 5-6 in MAC play. The Chippewas are led by second-year head coach Kristin Haynie.
- Leading CMU in scoring is freshman Madi Morson with 15.6 PPG. She is 5th in the MAC in scoring.
- The Herd leads the all-time series, 5-4 over Central Michigan. Saturday will be the first meeting between the two sides since January of 2005.
