Feringa, Parks Hit Three-Run Home Runs in Loss to No. 24 Liberty

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Marshall Softball (12-12) enters Sun Belt Conference play .500 following its 17-6 loss to No. 24 Liberty, 17-6.

The Flames (21-4) came to Huntington as the fifth ranked game Marshall has played in this season. 

Highlighting the evening for Marshall was a pair of three-run home runs from seniors Bub Feringa and Kasia Parks.

Feringa's first blast of the season made it a one-run game after two complete. The Herd's two-way player has steadily heated up at the plate, after hitting .500 with seven base knocks over the weekend. 

Parks, the Herd's leading hitter from the weekend where she hit .556 and the first three home runs of her career, knocked out another in the 5th to score Brooklyn Ulrich and Ava Blake. 

Marshall begins Sun Belt Conference play at home Friday against the five-time defending champions, Louisiana. The series from Dot Hicks Field starts at 6 p.m. Friday.
