No. 65 Herd Tennis Set to Host Golden Eagles, No. 48 Jaguars

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The No. 65 Marshall University Tennis team (11-3, 0-2 SBC) returns to Huntington for its first two Sun Belt Conference home matches of 2025 against the Southern Miss Golden Eagles (4-5, 0-2 SBC) on Saturday and the No. 48 South Alabama Jaguars (9-2, 2-0 SBC) on Sunday.

Both contests are scheduled to be played outdoors at the Brian David Fox Tennis Center at 10 a.m.

PREMATCH NOTES
- The Herd fell in conference openers last weekend at James Madison and at No. 36 Old Dominion.
- Marshall has been stout in doubles with the pairings of Emma Vanderheyden/Alina Mokrynskaya, Sophia Hurrion/Aisling McGrane and Johanna Strom/Nel Van Hout sporting 7-4, 7-2 and 7-3 records across No. 1-3 doubles, respectively.
- In singles, Sophia Hurrion is 10-4 with Aisling McGrane 9-4 during 2025.
SCOUTING SOUTHERN MISS
- The Golden Eagles dropped both of their SBC contests last weekend to Georgia State and Troy in Hattiesburg before taking a midweek match at home over Alcorn State.
- Miranda Xu is 5-1 during the Spring at No. 3 singles.
- In doubles, Xu with partner Sakura Sudo sports a 5-0 record at No. 3 doubles.
- The Jaguars started conference play last weekend with home wins over Troy and Georgia State.
- South plays at App State on Friday before traveling to Huntington for Sunday's contest.
- In singles, Chems Doha Zeghlouli is 9-1 across matches at No. 3 and 4 singles.
- The doubles pairing of Delien Kleinhans and Rio Maeda sports a 10-1 record at matches played at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles this Spring.
