NORFOLK, Va. – The No. 50 Marshall University Tennis team (11-3, 0-2 SBC) dropped its contest at No. 36 Old Dominion (), 4-2, on Sunday in Norfolk, Virginia.

"We did a great job at doubles and at 1,2,3 singles. We definitely put ourselves in position to pick up a huge win, but just didn't convert," Herd Tennis Head Coach John Mercer said.Â

In doubles, Emma Vanderheyden and Alina Mokrynskaya took down Sofia Johnson and Lidiia Rasskouskaia at No. 1 with a 6-2 victory.

Then Sophia Hurrion and Aisling McGrane clinched the doubles point for The Herd with a 6-3 triumph at No. 2 singles over Ulyana Romanova and Victoria Matasova at No. 2.

In singles, Mokrynskaya took her contest in straight sets 6-2, 7-5, over Romanova at No. 3.
