Bull, McLatchey, Borders lead the Herd Wednesday at Caledonia Golf & Fish Club
PAWLEY'S ISLAND, S.C. – Marshall's Abbey Bull and Emily McLatchey led the Thundering Herd Women's Golf team in the final day of action at the Golfweek/Stifel Spring Challenge on Wednesday at Caledonia Golf & Fish Club.
Bull had a five-hole stretch with four birdies en route to a 1-over 72 while McLatchey ended her tournament with a 2-over 73 to match the mark also put up by teammate Madison Borders.
Bull and Borders each finished tied for 26th in the tournament.
The Herd improved with each round in the tournament and again moved up the standings with their final round performance on Wednesday. Marshall ended up 10th in the team standings.
Borders consistently led Marshall throughout the week and Wednesday was also the case in birdies as she finished with five on the day. Her first and final birdies came on par-5s.
Bull had an exciting start to the day and played well throughout her round. After an opening bogey on her first hole of the day, Bull quickly turned things around with three straight birdies on Nos. 11, 12 and 13 while adding another two holes later on the par-5 15th hole. She later parred eight of her final 10 holes.
McLatchey found a rhythm after a few holes on Wednesday and never looked back, going Even par over her final 15 holes to post the impressive number. Her birdies came on Nos. 6 and 16.
The Women's Golf team now focuses its attention on the 2025 Sun Belt Conference Championships, which take place April 15-18 in Point Clear, Alabama.
