Marshall Softball Hosts Radford for Tuesday Doubleheader at Dot Hicks Field

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - For its final scheduled midweek of the season, Marshall Softball (24-21) hosts Radford (26-22).

Tuesday's doubleheader starts at 3 p.m. with the second game to follow. Tuesday is faculty and staff appreciation day at the field.

Coach Morgan Zerkle

Marshall is in its second season under Head Coach Morgan Zerkle. The 2017 All-American for the Herd led the team that season with a .476 average en route to a NCAA Tournament appearance. The Herd has made two NCAA Regionals in its history (2013 & 2017).
Zerkle - the Milton, West Virginia native - has been drafted to the AUSL's Bandits this past January, alongside Assistant Coach Sydney McKinney.

MARSHALL NOTES

Marshall is 10-8 in Sun Belt Conference play this season, currently in a tie for fifth in the league standings. The top-six earn a first round bye in next month's tournament in Troy, Ala.
The Herd is 12-5 at Dot Hicks Field this season, 7-1 in non-conference games.
MU had a solid weekend pitching against Coastal Carolina. Herd pitching held the top hitting team in the SBC to a .184 average across the three games.

ABOUT RADFORD

Radford is currently leading the Big South standings with an 11-4 conference record. The Highlanders are seeking its first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2010.
Amanda Lee and Rachel Smith lead the team with .300+ averages. Smith is atop the Big South with four triples.
Marshall leads the all-time series, 13-2. The Herd defeated Radford, 5-0 last season in Huntington.
