MADISON, Miss. – Marshall graduate player J.F. Aber led the Thundering Herd with a 2-under 70 on the second day of Stroke Play at the 2025 Sun Belt Men's Golf Championship at Annandale Golf Club in Madison, Miss., on Tuesday.

Aber currently sits at Even-par for the tournament and is tied for 18th, just five shots out of the lead as the tournament heads to the final day of stroke play on Wednesday.

"We had some great individual performances these first two days," Marshall Men's Golf coach Matt Grobe said. "Ryan Bilby opened with an incredible 68 and then, in the second round, J.F. shot an impressive 70. As a team, we just haven't all played good at the same time."

Aber carded four birdies on the day – all of which came on the four par-5s at Annandale. For the tournament, Aber is 6-under on the par-5s.

The final two birdies came in a three-hole stretch as Aber was closing out his round on Tuesday afternoon. After a birdie at No. 5 that got him into red figures for the day, Aber followed with another birdie on the 556-yard 7th hole to get him back to Even for the tournament.

Cameron Jarvis also had a successful 2nd round performance for the Herd, shooting an Even-par 72. Jarvis' first birdie of the day came on the par-3 12th hole – his third hole of the day – when he stuck a tee shot on the 171-yard hole to within four feet of the pin.

Jarvis later duplicated the par-3 feat on his next-to-last hole of the day when he birdied the par-3, 209-yard 8th hole to get back to Even on the afternoon.

The day started with the first round of action wrapping up after a weather delay prompted the stoppage of play on Monday evening.

Marshall's Ryan Bilby closed out one of the best single-rounds of the tournament in the early morning hours, carding a 4-under 68 to lead the Herd. Bilby is currently tied for 32nd and is also in striking distance of the leaders heading into the final day.

"The guys are really playing good; we just aren't scoring well," Grobe said. "Hopefully, tomorrow, we put it all together and finish strong."
