Marshall Softball Rallies Past Georgia Southern, 6-2

STATESBORO, Ga. — A five-run 6th inning propelled Marshall's softball team (28-21, 12-8 SBC) to a 6-2 victory on the road over Georgia Southern (27-22, 11-9 SBC).
The win is the Herd's ninth come-from-behind victory in Sun Belt Conference play this season. The Herd is now in sole possession of third in the SBC with four games remaining.
A pair of big flies from Haleigh Adkins and Tia Titi scored the runs for Coach Morgan Zerkle's team in its next to final at-bat.

The runs came in support of Paige Maynard, who earned the win in relief after pitching the middle five innings of Saturday's contest. She struck out two and kept the Herd within striking distance as GS left 12 on base.
The Herd's rally was started by a pinch-hit HBP of Ramey George after an eight-pitch battle. Adkins followed by winning her six-pitch matchup with her eighth home run of the season.
The inning continued with a Brooklyn Ulrich walk, a Chandler Hoskins single before the freshman's no-doubter to left center.
The win secures Marshall's fourth series victory in league play in 2025. MU will go for the sweep at noon on Sunday.
