NEW ORLEANS – Marshall University Baseball freshman Clint Moak was named Sun Belt Conference Pitcher of the Week on Tuesday, as announced by the league office.
Â
The native of Hamilton, Ohio, tossed a complete game shutout on Saturday in game three of the series to seal a series win over No. 13 Southern Miss.
Â
Moak allowed seven hits, none for extra bases, and just two walks with four strikeouts across his nine innings of work.
Â
The freshman right-hander stranded six on the bases and induced a trio of double plays to keep the Golden Eagles of the board in just his third collegiate start on the mound.
Â
The Herd is back in action on Wednesday at Ohio. First pitch in Athens is scheduled for 5 p.m.
