McLatchey, Kochan, Bull, Borders, Hawkins all earn honors for student-athlete success

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall Women's Golf had five players named as Academic All-American Scholars by the Women's Golf Coaches Association this week.

Those five players were senior Emily McLatchey, juniors Abbey Bull and Olivia Kochan, sophomore Madison Borders and freshman Savannah Hawkins.

Those honored as WGCA Academic All-American Scholars had to have an overall cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher, be an amateur and on the team's roster through the conclusion of the team's season and have played in 50 percent of regularly-scheduled competitive rounds during the year nominated.

To be eligible for the WGCA Academic All-District Team, athletes must have a minimum of a 3.5 grade point average and compete in 70 percent of team competitions throughout the course of a calendar year.

These five players paved the way for Marshall Women's Golf to lead all Marshall Athletics programs with a 3.94 Team GPA for the 2024-25 school year.
