Marshall Soccer Kicks Off 2025 Season With Saturday Fans First Doubleheader

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall Men's and Women's Soccer kick off the 2025-26 Herd Athletics season with a Fans First preseason doubleheader Saturday starting at 4 p.m. from Hoops Family Field.Â
Coach Rafa Simoes and the MU Women's Soccer team hosts UPike at 4 p.m. before Coach Grassie's preseason No. 2 ranked men's side welcomes Villanova at 7:15 p.m.
Fans are encouraged to stay following the conclusion of the women's match and before the start of the men's match for "Party on the Plaza." The event includes inflatables, music, food trucks, and more from Hoops Family Field.
Admission is free, but fans are to claim a ticket, which can be claimed, HERE. Saturday's contests will not be broadcast on ESPN+. Â
Coach Simoes and the Herd went 3-3-2 in Huntington last season. MU has been picked 10th in the 2025 Sun Belt Conference Preseason Poll. For the entire list of 2025 SBC Preseason Awards, view HERE. The Herd opens its regular season on Aug. 14 at Morehead State.
Coach Grassie and the No. 2 Marshall men are coming off its second NCAA College Cup Final in the last five seasons. The Thundering Herd will host Radford on Monday, Aug. 11 for a second exhibition contest from Hoops Family Field before closing the preseason on Aug. 15 at Maryland.Â
