Bella Thompson Named SBC Setter of the Week

NEW ORLEANS – The Marshall University volleyball senior Bella Thompson was named the Sun Belt Conference Setter of the Week on Tuesday, as announced by the league office.
Â
The native of Mooresville, North Carolina, had 124 assists at 10.33 per set, second most in the SBC this week, in three matches at the Wofford Invitational with an all-tournament team nod.
Â
Thompson had back-to-back matches with a double-double in a win Friday night over Wofford (40 assists and 18 digs) and in a win Saturday over Gardner-Webb (50 assists and 14 digs).
Â
The senior currently ranks second in the SBC with 356 assists this season.

The Herd is set to open SBC action this weekend with a pair of contests against Coastal Carolina on Friday at 6 p.m. and Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Cam Henderson Center.
