Marshall Closes Weekend in Louisville with Eight Top-5 School Performances

1/31/2026 8:23:00 PM | Track and Field

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Marshall Track & Field closed its weekend Saturday at the PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational with eight Top-5 school performances and eight Top-8 finishes at the meet which featured over 70 schools and clubs.

"Our kids did a great job closing out the meet today," Director of Track & Field Keith Roberts said. "We had several people move up on the conference list and we are excited to be at home next week. We've had some really great performances on our home track this season! It's amazing to see how much support we get from our fans. Marshall University is a special place and our kids do a great job representing the true spirit of our school and athletic department. This doesn't go unnoticed when we are on the road. Leaving the hotel I received a compliment from the hotel staff about how respectful our team is and then the official handed us the "golden bullet" calling them the best team in the meet. The performances were great but the culture is what lets me know we are on track. We ask for as many people in the community and school as possible to come out and watch the team compete this weekend. We are building something special."

With two weekends remaining before the Sun Belt Conference Indoor Championships, 25 Marshall athletes or relay teams are in scoring position.
