About the Marshall Jewel City Invitational
- "Jewel City" was added to the name of the Marshall Invitational for the 2026 edition as a homage to the running community in Huntington. This weekend's competition will be the 11th edition of this meet.
"It's amazing how fast championship season comes around," Director of Track & Field Keith Roberts said. "There's no better way to start the final stretch to conference with a home meet honoring our seniors and competing in front of our families and fans. We appreciate our seniors and all of their hard work, and this is a great way to recognize them in front of our fans. This meet is going to be a big event and we are excited about all of the teams and competitors attending."
Among the 16 seniors is Asha Bora. The native of Hurricane set a personal record in last week's 5K with a 17:41.92 - the 4th-fastest time in the SBC this season.
The final home meet is a great opportunity to demonstrate how much work we've put in since the last home meet," Bora said. "At practice and meets, I've seen each event group improve and evolve as competitors and as teammates. Competing in front of a home crowd is always special, and I know the energy of the Marshall community will push us to be the best versions of ourselves."
