HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall Football returns home under the lights on Saturday when Coastal Carolina comes to Joan C. Edwards Stadium for a 7 p.m. Sun Belt Conference matchup. The game serves as Marshall's annual 'We Are … Herd Strong' matchup and will be shown on ESPN+.

PRE-GAME NOTES
Marshall and Coastal Carolina have previously met four times with no game being decided by fewer than 11 points.
The Herd is looking to open the home conference portion of its slate with a win to move to 3-0 on the year at Joan C. Edwards Stadium. The two previous wins have come by a combined three points.
Both teams come into the game looking for their first SBC win of the 2026 season after dropping contests last week.
Several players on the Coastal Carolina roster played at Marshall last season while at Missouri State – the school where first-year Coastal head coach Ryan Beard came from.

Marshall comes into the contest at 3-2 overall and 0-1 in Sun Belt Conference play after last week's loss to James Madison.
The Herd is led offensively by quarterback Carlos Del Rio-Wilson, who has thrown for 1,004 yards and six touchdowns on the season. His favorite target has been Xayvion Turner-Bradshaw, who has 22 receptions for 324 yards and four scores.
Defensively, Marshall is led by Caleb Clark-Glover, who has 37 tackles on the season.
Marshall kicker Jorge Diaz Nicolas has seven field goals in his last three games and is one of the SBC leaders in scoring. Punter Coop Heimbach is averaging 45.1 yards per punt.

ABOUT COASTAL CAROLINA
Coastal Carolina is 1-4 overall and 0-1 in the SBC under first-year head coach Ryan Beard.
The Chanticleers' offense is led by quarterback Deuce Bailey, who transferred over from Missouri State when Beard left the Bears to take over the Coastal program.
Bailey has thrown for 1,267 yards and 12 touchdowns with only two interceptions this season.
Defensively, Coastal Carolina is led by defensive end Ibrahim Diawara, who has five sacks on the season.

SERIES HISTORY
This will be the fifth meeting all-time between the teams with Coastal Carolina holding a 3-1 advantage. All the games in the series have taken place in Sun Belt Conference East Division play. Marshall won the last matchup in Huntington, 31-19, in 2024 in the annual '75' game.
