Four Herd T&F Athletes Named to Sun Belt All-Conference Teams

NEW ORLEANS – Marshall's Lara Check earned First Team All-Sun Belt Conference and the trio of Justin Lipscomb, Markayla Moore, and Trashaun Smith earned Second Team All-Sun Belt Conference from their performances at the SBC Indoor Championships this week in Birmingham.
Check is now a two-time All-Conference member after garnering Third Team accolades in outdoor season last spring. The senior enters her final outdoor season looking to qualify for her second-consecutive NCAA First Rounds.
Lipscomb earned his second-consecutive SBC Second Team All-Conference award after finishing 11th to lead the Herd at the SBC Cross Country Championships last fall. The sophomore from Winfield finished as the Herd men's high-point scorer after finishing 5th in the 3K in addition to his silver medal in the 5K.
Moore broke through in the 2025-26 indoor season, setting personal records in Shot Put and Weight Throw, where her 19.81 meter throw was the second-best mark in program history. Moore finished as the Herd women's high-point scorer at the championships with a 4th-place finish in Shot Put in addition to the podium finish in Weight Throw.
As a freshman, Smith finished 2nd in the Triple Jump at the SBC Championships, jumping 15.44 meters. The podium finish capped a freshman indoor season where Smith set the school record in the event (15.56 meters) with six victories between Triple Jump, High Jump, and Long Jump.
